steps :
1.Create a new file 
2.modify an existing file
3.Go to  git status page
4.Click on the new file , the compare viewer shows the proper content
5.Switch to the modified file , the compare viewer shows the new file content at the bottom.

this might have been introduced by the fix from bug 345788. Will double check that.
