Description Johan Compagner CLA 2003-03-11 09:42:52 EST
Why do i have to deselect everything in the package explorer to get the open
project menu item in an enabled state?

Open project should only be depended of one thing: Closed projects or not
Comment 1 Andrew Irvine CLA 2003-03-11 15:09:26 EST
What build are you using? In the RC2 build if you select 10 projects, and only
one is closed the open project is enabled.

Marking as duplicate of bug #2529, assuming you are running an older version of
eclipse. Please re-open if you see this problem in the RC2 build.

*** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 2529 ***
Comment 2 Johan Compagner CLA 2003-03-11 17:04:43 EST
I do use RC2.

The problem is that i open project item has 2 functions!

1> Opens a dialog where i can select closed project(s) so that i can open them
2> Opens the current selected closed project.

And <1> only happens when nothing is selected in the package explorer. And i
always want <1> or when i have selected a closed project then do <2>

So nothing selected or selected a non closed project then open project should
be enabled and do <1> else if a closed project is selected then do <2>

Ofcourse if there aren't any closed projects then <1> should never happen.

This behaviour is specific to the Package Explorer.
Comment 4 Dirk Baeumer CLA 2003-03-18 12:54:53 EST
The reason for the current behaviour is that if nothing is selected open
project works in the views input, which in this case is the workspace. That's
why you are getting a dialog.

We should consider the improvements outlined in comment #2, but not for 2.1

As of now 'LATER' and 'REMIND' resolutions are no longer supported.
Please reopen this bug if it is still valid for you.
