Description John Peberdy CLA 2011-05-11 18:42:58 EDT
Build Identifier: I20090611-1540

Over the last few months as we're getting these crashes more frequently on Windows 7. The symptom is a hard crash, most commonly at eclipse startup, sometimes later (eg when clicking a button on mouse down). They only seem to occur if other applications are opened first and only after a reboot. It's not clear if some other program is putting windows in a bad state or if this is an actual SWT bug. The stack traces vary and some suggest JVM memory corruption.
Using jdk 1.5.0_21 both 32 and 64-bit.
Not everyone with this environment observes this issue.
Any help appreaciated.

Reproducible: Sometimes

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Reboot windows 7
2. Start outlook and firefox
3. Start Eclipse
Observe hard crash often.
Repeatedly opening eclipse causes the crash again at different times in the startup sequence. If you wait an hour and restart Eclipse usually it will start up fine. Rarely occurs if you load Eclispe before doing anything else.

Your log file doesn't seem to match anything John has attached. Please open a bug with CDT.

This bug hasn't had any activity in quite some time. Maybe the problem got resolved, was a duplicate of something else, or became less pressing for some reason - or maybe it's still relevant but just hasn't been looked at yet.

If you have further information on the current state of the bug, please add it. The information can be, for example, that the problem still occurs, that you still want the feature, that more information is needed, or that the bug is (for whatever reason) no longer relevant.

If the bug is still relevant, please remove the "stalebug" whiteboard tag.
