Description Susan McCourt CLA 2011-05-05 16:33:34 EDT
I've been keeping a running list with Linda (graphic designer) of things we want to polish in the CSS. Here's the list so far, please feel free to add comments regarding priority:

- fonts are not as specified in the mockups, different per browser. (Implementation in CSS is not specific enough, didn't get Arial on Linda's browser)
- banner layout measurements are not correct (breadcrumb should be lower)
- non-bolded text in header looks faint, needs to be cleaner, crisper
- link colors in nav content are kind of muted and what we had originally was brighter/better/happier?
- tightening up the margins (too much on left side)
- fonts and colors in editor (moving to a more modern fixed width font in the editor, new colors, etc.)
- better icons, styled more for the web
- gradient in banner for more polish/pizzazz
- can editor and navigator have a right gray margin channel?
- selected line color in editor
- pushing back the line numbers, getting rid of border
- revisit hover state for menu treatment
- dialog styling, lighterweight
- checkboxes and twisties in navigator
- alternating color bars in navigator
- splitter visuals (thinner bar that pops out on hover, regular and hover states for the thumb)
- font size, spacing for auxiliary pane headings (like favorites) could be bigger, so as not to look like a "peer" to content/nav headings
- look and usage of separators in the header

moving styling bugs to RC1
Comment 2 Susan McCourt CLA 2011-06-10 11:18:24 EDT
this list is a bit different given the new header/breadcrumb, but Linda and I will go over the design and polish next week.

We've come a long way since this list.
The items from the original list that still apply are listed below.
Linda and I still plan to revisit them, although at this point we are mostly tweaking colors and fonts. I've listed them in priority order...

> - margins in header and in content
> - revisit hover state for menu treatment
> - alternating color bars in navigator
> - fonts and colors in editor (moving to a more modern fixed width font in the
> editor, new colors, etc.)
> - selected line color in editor
> - pushing back the line numbers, getting rid of border

(In reply to comment #3)
> > - margins in header and in content
we tweaked these and added some bordering.

> > - revisit hover state for menu treatment
The shape of bordering is there, still need to tweak colors.

> > - alternating color bars in navigator
Tweaked color

Probably won't get to these editor issues at this late date.

Tomorrow we are going to revisit colors to pull things together and possibly tweak some padding values.
Comment 5 Susan McCourt CLA 2011-06-16 18:47:07 EDT
pushed final tweaks that I did with Linda on colors and banner logo spacing.
We opened bug 349634 for stuff that was too big to do now or that I couldn't quickly figure out...next release.
