Hello,

not sure if this is a real issue, but when Installing 3.7 M7, it would be expected that trying to install additional Eclipse features from the Indigo repo would work fine.

Right now, with some features, we get dependency conflict problems.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Install fresh Eclipse SDK 3.7 M7
2. -> Help -> Install New Software...
3. Select http://download.eclipse.org/releases/indigo
4. Try to install "Eclipse Core Runtime Infrastructure" feature
5. Result: Cannot complete the install because of a conflicting dependency.
Software being installed: Eclipse Core Runtime Infrastructure 1.0.0.v20110124-7H7KFD3BpeIkVLDVhTbSWSIbQt (org.eclipse.core.runtime.feature.feature.group 1.0.0.v20110124-7H7KFD3BpeIkVLDVhTbSWSIbQt)

Similar issue happens when trying to install other features like "Core Server Feature" which gives:

Cannot complete the install because of a conflicting dependency.
Software being installed: Core Server Feature 1.1.0.v20110124-7K7TF9wF7RZHQOI_Op (org.eclipse.equinox.server.core.feature.group 1.1.0.v20110124-7K7TF9wF7RZHQOI_Op)

Shouldn't this work by default?

Note that it works fine with 3.7 M6 but got similar issue with 3.7 M5.

Thanks!

That's because Indigo M7 has not been declared yet, so you are seeing the M6 Indigo repo.

For testing Indigo M7 content, you can use the http://download.eclipse.org/releases/staging repo temporarily.

Hmmm, so regardless of this news http://download.eclipse.org/eclipse/downloads/drops/S-3.7M7-201104280848/eclipse-news-M7.html, it's not yet declared...

Thanks for the info.

Sébastien,

Eclipse 3.7M7 was declared last Friday. However, it is only part of a coordinated release that many other Eclipse projects participate in. Each project has various dependencies with respect to other projects in the Indigo repository (http://download.eclipse.org/releases/indigo). Projects contribute to this repository after their dependencies have are available in it. Thus the release of the 3.7M7 Indigo repository isn't suitable for consumption until all Indigo projects have contributed their bundles to the common repository.

See http://wiki.eclipse.org/Indigo/Simultaneous_Release_Plan for more details

Sounds good, thanks for the clarification.

(still look a bit special that "core" Eclipse features like "Eclipse Core Runtime Infrastructure" and "Core Server Feature" are not fully synchronized, but it's oki :-)).
