When trying to install a new connector using the m2e Marketplace, the error indication I got was a red X at the top with only the label of 'Operation details' and nothing more. The eclipse error log showed nothing related to this problem. Also, the error label wasn't scrollable and there was no way to see the actual problem. The only way to see the details of what was in there was using the 'Install New Software' method. Steps to reproduce: 1. Prepare an environment with no m2e-egit connector installed, and egit 0.12.x installed (I had the latest nightly). 2. Try to install the m2e-egit connector using the m2e Marketplace.
I am seeing this exact behavior -- same, down to the lack of any error messages in the Eclipse log.

Fixed. http://git.eclipse.org/c/m2e/m2e-core.git/commit/?id=32465e99d2e90bb73d248e571b10c4eecf9fcf1a m2e discovery ui now shows installation failure information in a popup window and logs details to eclipse .log file (sigh). Although not pretty from UI point of view, this is consistent with standard p2 discovery installation wizard behaviour and should provide enough details to be able to diagnose the problem.
