This was expected since day 1 with tools like Bugzilla (recently fixed), CVS, SVN and anything else that runs on top of SQL.  Normally the apostrophe should not be part of an email.
I will be getting my new email michael.f.obrien next week - this should fix it.
This issue is not specific to EclipseLink - it will occur for any project committer like o'connor where thier org does not removed reserved chars from their email.
