As the gerrit connector depends on JGit, there should be a hint for p2 where to find JGit. Otherwise installation fails if you don't have the indigo repository specified.

We don't have a good way to do that. As far as I know we can't simply add the EGit site to the Mylyn composite site since those artifacts are not (yet) part of the project. Once the EGit project moves to Mylyn we can fix that. With Indigo this should also be less painful since the Indigo site will provide a compatible version EGit and will be enabled in most Eclipse instances by default.
