See discussion here: http://dev.eclipse.org/mhonarc/lists/ecf-dev/msg05221.html It makes sense to modify the hello consumer edef examples to start the o.e.e.e.remoteservices.hello bundle in order to avoid this problem on Equinox 3.6.X.
Fix pushed to master: http://git.eclipse.org/c/ecf/org.eclipse.ecf.git/commit/?id=a54ec7bdb1c256595c14a2a7d6804ce736b6c89d
I've now verified that the fix for bug 343992 fixes this bug as well...on Equinox 3.6.2. So I'm resolving this bug as fixed as well. I would appreciated any more testing...and/or contributions to additional product configurations...and/or wiki documentation (of start levels/autostart for various configurations of discovery and distribution providers). Please coordinate those things via either bug 344000 (product configurations), or bug 329124 (ECF documentation project).
