Build Identifier: M20110210-1200 In Window > Preferences > General > Compare/Patch, "Show structure compare in Outline view when possible" is CHECKED, the "Structure Compare" does not show at all. This may be isolated to just JDT / Java Source files, but I have yet been able to find another file type where an advanced Structure Compare appears. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Install the latest JDT (3.6.2.r362_v20101117-0800-7z8XFW6FLFlmjJcvz03jyeFBLS_F)) 2. Upon starting Eclipse, go to "Window > Preferences > General > Compare/Patch". 3. Make sure "Show structure compare in Outline view when possible" is UNCHECKED. 4. Create a new Java Project. 5. Create a new Java Class. (Ex: MyTestClass) 6. Go to the Editor for "MyTestClass", right-click, go to "Compare With > Local History..." 7. Select the first "Revision Time" in the tab "History" tab. 8. The "Compare" editor will appear with "Java Structure Compare" at the top, noting that "MyTestClass" was added. 9. Close the "Compare Editor" 10. Go back to "Window > Preferences > General > Compare/Patch". CHECK "Show structure compare in Outline view when possible". 11. Repeat steps 6 and 7. 12. This time, "Java Structure Compare" will not show in the "Compare" editor.
Clarification: I have NOT yet been able to find another file type where an advanced Structure Compare appears.
This bug hasn't had any activity in quite some time.
