For CVS and Subversion projects the user has the option to re-use a previous commit message (selectable from a list). This feature would be quite handy for the egit plug-in commit dialog. This would also add a consistent usability through the different repository providers, currently CVS and Subversion provide a list with previous commits. Currently the user has only the possibility to append the previous git commit (from the same project.) However, if you are working with several related projects from different repositories it would be nice to chose from these projects a message, too. I think showing the latest 10 commit messages would be sufficient.

This does not seem to work (or I don't know how to activate it). I'm using 1.3.0.201201041914.
Ah, got it: it's part of the content assist. The tool tip doesn't indicate this. Also, the list should be LRU and not alphabetically sorted.
