Hi,

I tried installing the new SW contributed by our Dev team via HELP-> "Install new SW". A popup opened & I saw a table with two columns "Name" & "Version".

Issue:
I believe that the column name "Name" is a bit vague...as the end user doesnt know the underlying objects are "Features" or "Plugins" etc.

Kindly look into this.

Thanks,
Vikas Singh

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Goto HELP menu
2. Click on "Install new SW"
3. A popup opens
4. There is a table with column "Name"

I believe that the column name "Name" is a bit vague...as the end user doesnt know the underlying objects are "Features" or "Plugins" etc.

I'm not sure there is any work to do to in the platform to "fix" this problem. The end user shouldn't know (or care) if they are installing features or plug-ins... they just want to install an extension which provides new functionality and it shouldn't matter how that is packaged.

As for what appears in the "Name" column, this is up to the feature provider. This is a user-readable name which properly describes their extension and its functionality. When the user clicks on a name in a row in the table, a longer description appears in the Details section of the dialog. If the combination of the Name and Description isn't enough to tell the user what is being installed, then it is up to the feature provider to provide better information.

This bug hasn't had any activity in quite some time. Maybe the problem got resolved, was a duplicate of something else, or became less pressing for some reason - or maybe it's still relevant but just hasn't been looked at yet.

If you have further information on the current state of the bug, please add it. The information can be, for example, that the problem still occurs, that you still want the feature, that more information is needed, or that the bug is (for whatever reason) no longer relevant.
