1. Log in to orion.eclipse.org 2. Browse to the default content in org.eclipse.orion.client.core, and open a .JS file. 4. Copy the resulting URL from your address bar. Mine was: http://orion.eclipse.org/coding.html#/file/org.eclipse.orion.client.core/static/js/auth.js 5. Using a different browser, navigate to the link that you just copied. 6. You'll see the login dialog. Hit Reload. 7. At this point the page refreshes, and you'll see the login dialog again. But, the editor also loads and shows the content of auth.js. It receives focus, the caret appears, and I can type in it. This all happens while the editor is greyed out and the login dialog is still visible. It seems that after the editor manages to successfully load a file, it steals focus from the login dialog. Normally the editor fails to load (403) when you need to log in, so you don't see this issue. But since the default content on orion.eclipse.org is viewable by everyone, the editor will load it and steal focus.
Created attachment 191854 [details] Screenshot of the focus issue Here's a picture
(In reply to comment #0) > since the default content on orion.eclipse.org is viewable by everyone, the > editor will load it and steal focus. Correction: since everything on orion.eclipse.org is publicly viewable, this happens on any file, not just the default content
The login widget doesn't steal focus anymore. Closing...
