The Helios Help at http://help.eclipse.org/helios/index.jsp shows a Service unavailable! Error 503 to me. I couldn't find any other bug reports related to this but maybe it is connected to some other server problems yesterday. Most of the older help centers are working.
Fixed. -M.
I am getting an "Error 503" right now on: http://help.eclipse.org/helios/index.jsp
Note that it's working with: http://help.eclipse.org/galileo/index.jsp But it is still not working with: http://help.eclipse.org/helios/index.jsp I'm reopening this bug.
The help service has been restarted. -M.
...reopening... it happened again. Maybe we should have a deeper look into this as it happens every few weeks and we don't know the root cause.
It seems to crash because it's out of memory. Here's the command we use to launch... Any suggestions, other than just increasing those 256 numbers to 512? /usr/bin/java -Xmx256m -XX:MaxPermSize=256m -XX:+HeapDumpOnOutOfMemoryError -classpath [snip]/org.eclipse.help.base_3.5.0.v201005271700.jar org.eclipse.help.standalone.Infocenter -clean -command start -eclipsehome [snip]/eclipse -port 8088 -nl en -locales en -plugincustomization [snip]/eclipse/plugin_customization.ini &
We've finally summoned the courage to open a bug against platform/ua and have attached a heap dump. No matter how much PermGen we'd allocate, we'd always end up running out, so I'm assuming there's a leak somewhere.
