The left pane of the GitStatus window never contains horizontal scroll bards, nor does the main window. If the content of the files list is larger then the pane width the only way to see more is to resize the pane. User may now know that there is something more on the right of his view.
If window is smaller that default width of the left pane user has an impression that there is only one pane on the site and his viewing the whole content of it (vertical scroll is out of the user's view). See the attachment.

fixed with 0ad971ded9d07e54ba2cbe75660dc4b9e2d192c2.
I addressed the second issue in 339873 , where we will consolidate all the M6 UI layouts.
