When creating a query with the web templates connector, the task titles are initially retrieved from the query result, and when the task is synchronised from the html page name. In the case of the MantisBT/SF.net combination, the tite from loading the page is wrapped in some boiler plate by the SF.net proxies, e.g.

'Adapt to the SF.net API changes' becomes 'SourceForge.net: Project Hosted Application mantisbt: mylyn-mantis - 0000057: Adapt to the SF.net API changes - Mantis' .

It would be nice to have an option which allows for the title retrieved from the query to be kept.

Sounds like a good idea. The bug has been marked helpwanted to indicate that we would be happy to support a community contribution to resolve it.
