It would be useful to be able to look up tickets in JIRA, so that they are associated with a ticket in the system.

Probably the ideal solution would be to provide a hook, so that any bug database could be used for looking up the tickets. Not sure whether this git notes could also be used for storing the effected ticket numbers.
