While dealing with a problem with 0.11.3, which will be reported separately, I learnt I can't downgrade via the update site, and probably the Marketplace as well. Even if previous versions aren't supported for whatever reasons, users should be able to downgrade to them, just so not to find themselves in a situation like mine: the plugin stops working and I can't get work done. Please evaluate adding all available previous versions there.
This isn't a bug really. Older updates are available via http://download.eclipse.org/egit/updates-0.10 http://download.eclipse.org/egit/updates-0.9 The marketplace will always carry the latest release. If you come across a bug, please file it so we can fix it in a nightly build or spin a maintainence release. What was your issue?
It is really not a bug, but an improvement, as I think a same update site can be used for all releases, the IDE actually has a filter "show only the latest releases" which is turned on by default. I found it very confusing not to have multiple sites, not to mention that they don't seem to be mentioned in the project site. I also wonder if it is a policy of the Eclipse Marketplace not to show older releases, is it?

We prefer not to do this. It's easier to manage p2 repos individually atm. > I found it very confusing not to have multiple sites, not to mention that they > don't seem to be mentioned in the project site. Only the latest release and nightly repository are mentioned which makes a lot of sense to me. We don't support older releases of EGit and JGit as we spin new releases pretty quickly. If you have a problem, you report it and it gets fixed in a new nightly build and will appear in the next release. At the moment, you have never stated what your problem is that causes you to have to downgrade to an older version of EGit. > I also wonder if it is a policy of the Eclipse Marketplace not to show older > releases, is it? It's not a policy as it's up to the project itself to update its entry on the Eclipse Marketplace. We prefer to use the latest as most of our users do. I updated our FAQ to include information on old releases... http://wiki.eclipse.org/EGit/FAQ#Where_can_I_find_older_releases_of_EGit.3F
Thanks for the answers, I got your points. The issue at hand is reported at #338342, will appreciate your help with it.
