Description Beth Tibbitts CLA 2011-02-19 22:17:06 EST
Remote C project, content assist (e.g. get <ctl-space> is empty instead of
populating with all APIs that begin with 'get'

This was Eclipse on SUSE linux machines at MSI 2/18/11.
Eclipse 3.6.1, CDT 7.0.1, PTP 4.0.5
RDT via RemoteTools

One student's machine WOULD populate the popup intermittently.
None of the others ever would.
(My Mac, remote to the same remote target machine, would not populate content assist either.)
Yes we set up remote paths and symbols.

Does it timeout after a certain period of time if there is no response????

Often if you wait a few minutes or come back to this later, the content assist starts mysteriously working again.

I think we fixed some of these issues in newer versions of PTP. Which parser were you using?

In general, content assist is supposed to timeout after five seconds.

when it times out, doesn't it have a popup or something?
Basically i still see this sometimes, not predictable though.
Parser? Nothing but default. That is, not the UPC parser if that's what you are asking.

So I assume the CDT GNU parser then.

Yes, there should be a popup. I think the parser is hanging.

Marking this as resolved.
