The TPTP Monitoring project was terminated in May, but pieces of it remain. There is reference to the project summary page on the /tptp page (in the left-nav/project common). The website still exists. /cvsroot/tptp/org.eclipse.tptp.monitoring still exists. Is there anything else that I'm missing? Can we wrap these up?
Yes. We should be able to wrap up all the loose ends very soon. Joel, could you please work with Eugene and complete the remaining process?
Created attachment 190763 [details] Patch to remove Monitoring Tools from navigation The attached patch removes the Monitoring Tools link from the left navigation on the main TPTP web page, TPTP download page, and the project pages (Monitoring Tools, Performance, Platform and Test).
Patch checked in, except I could not check in the change to the Monitoring Tools navigation.
Webmasters, I'm not sure if the tptp-monitoring-tools-dev mailing list is archived. Do we need to make any changes to add the project to the archived projects page? Are there any steps remaining (possibly from bug 313540)? Does the archive file contain all the Monitoring Runtime and SDK releases (I believe the TPTP releases are 4.0 to 4.7.0). Thanks
I've closed the mailing list, added TPTP Monitoring to the /archived page and have put a redirect on www.eclipse.org/tptp/monitoring that points to /archived. You'd have to unpack the archive file and tell me if anything is missing. -M.
The link to the archive file on the archived page does not seem to work for me. Could you please confirm it is correct? Thanks!
Looks ok from here. -M.
Hi, The link works for us now. We were checking the archive file and we found that only 4.5.2.1, 4.6.2 and 4.7.0 got included inside downloads directory. We would like to have the downloads directory contains monitoring from 4.2 which means from TPTP-4.2.0 to TPTP-4.7.0. These releases are on archive.eclipse.org. Source and website directory look fine.
Ok, so just to be sure I understand what's required: You want the TPTP releases on archive.eclipse.org/tptp between 4.2 and 4.7 added to the monitoring archive file. If correct that will add many many GB to the archive file, and I'd like to understand why. When a project is archived we only pack the files it provided in it's download area, we don't include 'parent' releases. Is there something 'special' about monitoring that requires it's archive be this huge? -M.
The main reason we ask for Monitoring to be archived from TPTP 4.2 on is there are consuming products that still support TPTP 4.2 onward. They want to make sure that they still have access to those sources if they are needed.
Ok, but that will result in an archive that is ~22GB(uncompressed) which frankly seems excessive. Could we include a readme file that would point people at the archive site? -M.
If we can have the drivers in archive/tptp site stick around, then I think we are OK just including 4.5.2.1, 4.6.2. and 4.7.0 (and provide a readme to point to the archive site). BTW, the some drivers you have in the initial zip are not necessary since they are duplicates or just interim driver. Sam will provide you with the detail list of drivers to keep and delete.
Hi, For 4.5.2.1, we would like to add TPTP-4.5.2.1-201008272040 which is our M6 driver. For 4.6.2, we would like to keep TPTP-4.6.2 driver and for 4.7.0, we would like to keep TPTP-4.7.0 driver. You may delete other drivers that are not listed above also the dev folder inside 4.7.0 directory.
I think there's a disconnect in our terminology. You seem to be talking about 'drivers' but I'm looking at the file system and I only see some text files called 'drivers'. Is that what you want me to include? Maybe there is a 'better' way for us to help each other. Why don't you create a directory under archive.eclipse.org/tptp called monitor-archive and in that you can place all of the files you want included in the tptp.monitor.tgz /downloads directory. Once that's done I'll repack the tgz file to include this extra data. -M.
Hi, I have already created monitor-archive in archive.eclipse.org/tptp so tptp.monitor.tgz /downloads directory should contain only the files inside monitor-archive.
Ok, I've added the contents of monitor-archive into /downloads within the tar file, and added a README file pointing people at http://archive.eclipse.org/tptp for other versions. -M.
Hi, Some folders that we don't need are still inside /downloads. We would like to keep only the downloads/4.5.2.1/TPTP-4.5.2.1-201008272040, downloads/4.6.2/TPTP-4.6.2 and downloads/4.7.0/TPTP-4.7.0 directories. Everything else inside /downloads can be removed.
Ok, done. -M.
Hi, It seems to me that the link to the archive file on the archived page is broken again. http://archive.eclipse.org/tptp/archive/tptp.monitoring.tgz Can you double check it is correct?
Bad permissions. Fixed. -M.
Hi, Verified. tptp.monitoring.tgz looks good.
Resolving.
