Description Violeta Georgieva CLA 2011-02-17 05:59:21 EST
Hi,

If one wants explicitly to specify the RMI ports used for JMX Remote connections to be one and the same every time, JMX Remote Lifecycle Listener provided by Tomcat can be used for this purpose. Here is more about this feature [1].

It will be very useful if this feature is available also for Virgo.

Here is the mail thread about this [2].

Regards
Violeta

An internal VMware project experimented with this briefly and found that RMI servers still listened on ephemeral ports. Perhaps there was more configuration to do to enable this, but I mention this finding in case someone takes this bug on and assumes the sizing will be small.
