Description Jeff McAffer CLA 2011-02-15 22:00:54 EST
Using the plugin search to find the extension points that have "org" (e.g., *org*) in their name gives a search result that say
    *.*org* - 1 match

I can't tell if the prefix *. is being added under the covers or if it is a bogus value being reported in the results. in any event, there many extension points that has "org" in the name and they are not being found. Other patterns of *org* with and without the * and/or '.' seem to all behave differently.

Interestingly what is displayed in the search box seems to change based on which options are selected. Not sure what that means but thought it might be helpful.

Example

Typing org* with Extension Point/References/Enabled Plug-ins Only results in *.org.* - 0 matches

while

Typing org with Plug-in/Declarations/All results in the more correct org* - 364 matches

yeah, me thinks that there is too much cleverness going on here. just search for what the user asks for.

This bug hasn't had any activity in quite some time. Maybe the problem got resolved, was a duplicate of something else, or became less pressing for some reason - or maybe it's still relevant but just hasn't been looked at yet.

If you have further information on the current state of the bug, please add it. The information can be, for example, that the problem still occurs, that you still want the feature, that more information is needed, or that the bug is (for whatever reason) no longer relevant.
