Build Identifier: To reproduce: 1) create a dynamic web project for servlet version 2.4 and a JBoss 5 server runtime. All settings are default. 2) next add a dynamic web project for servlet version 2.5 and a JBoss 5 server runtime. All settings are default. Now, the 2.4 project will disappear in project explorer, only the 2.5 project is shown. If you delete the 2.5 project, the 2.4 project will reappear. If you first create 2.5, then 2.4, the 2.5 project will "vanish", Both are visible in "Package Explorer" window of the "Java" perspective. This happens in wtp-M-3.2.3-20110121005429. I don't know whether this is a regression, probably because I never mixed web versions up to today (and this happened only when verifying another bug, so it is not really a problem for me ;-) ). Reproducible: Always
I see this also in wtp-I-3.3.0-20110127064115. Very strange: the very first time I did this I think saw both projects. But after the first add/delete cycle, the error always happened: after adding the second project, both are visible, and a second later the ProjectExplorer seems to refill and only one project is left.
Dimitar, can you attempt to reproduce this as part of this week's smoke test? This should be easily seen, since the smoke test scenario includes the creation of both Web 2.4 and 2.5 projects.
I have reproduced it. Starting initial investigation.
What I have found on Friday: The issue is nor connected with WTP content providers. It is possible the issue to stop reproducing in a while. After debugging in org.eclipse.ui.navigator.resources I have noticed that the project disappear during jsdt content provider org.eclipse.wst.jsdt.internal.ui.packageview.PackageExplorerContentProvider I will try to prove this today.
commenting out the extenders of org.eclipse.wst.jsdt.internal.ui.packageview.PackageExplorerContentProvider in the plugin.xml in org.eclipse.wst.jsdt.ui stops the issue from happening. Can you investigate.
