Creating RAP applications with plain SWT (i.e. without using Workbench APIs) but running on OSGi, is an interesting alternative for many web applications.  Unfortunately it seems to be not well known that this is possible at all (e.g [1]).

I'd therefore suggest that we provide a template that produces a Plug-in project with a plain SWT application including a launch configuration to give an example of this setup.
