Description Michelle Crane CLA 2011-01-24 12:58:09 EST
Build Identifier: 3.6.2

I'm finding that the edit commands (e.g., cut/copy/paste, but especially delete) are missing from the context menu (e.g., in Project Explorer).

Reproducible: Always

Can you give some more details about this? They are present for me when I expect them. Can you say which type of object you are selecting? The contribution of these menu items is dependent on what you are working with.

Works for me in M20110119-0834 on WinXP.

Sorry. Too generic I guess.

I'm actually using a build of Rational Software Architect, build on top of Eclipse Platform 3.6.2.r362_v20110111. In the Project Explorer view, clicking on a project, or file (e.g., general project, file, UML model, etc.) shows a context menu. In older versions of RSA, I was able to right-click and select Delete (or use the Del key). Since I started using this version, I can no longer do that, and I notice that the entire Edit menu is missing. I have to move to another perspective to delete files.

A coworker of mine was able to reproduce at the IES level (upon which RSA is built) with the 362I20110118 build, using the Resource perspective.

I'm working with Michelle on diagnosing this in RSA. I am unable to reproduce this in any version of base Eclipse including 3.6.2RC1 or the M20110105 and M20110112 integration builds.

The more it goes the more it looks like this is an internal IBM problem.

This sounds right as the way the common navigator works it's easy to override the context menus on objects, so there might be an issue there. And this does not seem to happen in the base eclipse. Let me know if you need any help with this.

Closing this bug. Further testing shows it's not Eclipse, it's us. Apologies.
