In order to implement templates, you need to defer creation of the nodes specified as children in the XWT XML. A highly decoupled mechanism, such as using an annotation, would allow other packages potentially, to implement this feature with general support inside the core XWT package. Or failing, that, this feature needs to be added to the core XWT package. I have a prototype in development that already allows element evaluation to be deferred and then "played" back when the template needs to be instantiated. Currently, it requires a reference to a ResourceLoader.

Reproducible: Always

In light of WB, VDE is not supported anymore.
