Steps:

1. Ctrl+H to open the search dialog, select the Plug-ins tab
2. enter a search term and hit OK to start the search and add it to the search term history
3. re-open the dialog and the Plug-ins tab
4. change some of the search settings
5. select the previous search term from the combo

At step 4 you can repeat 4-5 as many times as you want, the controls are always reset selecting a search term from the history.

Expected

my search term is selected and I can search

Happens

selecting the search term from the history resets all of the controls on the page

So, this bug is actually a feature. The search history stores the control state as well as the search term. So whatever settings you used when searching for that string will always be used. The other search types have the same behaviour.
