Some of the output sent to the browser from Orion comes from the server app itself (Login Box for example).  I think its important that we keep the presentation layer separate from the back-end code if we do intend to provide some kind of templating system.

Editing the title and re-targetting. Authentication is something to work on in 0.3. I hope we can work on teasing out the protocol aspects of our current authentication so that we can move the js and presentation to one of the client bundles.

Yes. Orion does not provide any authentication UI now. Each service that needs authentication uses its own login UI with styling specific for this service.
