Description James CLA 2011-01-20 09:01:28 EST
Build Identifier: 20100218-1602

If you click on a variable or method in the Outline view and then scroll up or down so that that method is no longer on screen, clicking the method again will not bring it up since it is already highlighted. You have to click another method/variable and back to the one you were on in order to see it again.

Methods in the outline view, even though highlighted, should snap to that method when clicked again.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Click on an item in the Outline view (ie, Method, Function, Variable)
2. Scroll off the screen from that item
3. Click the item again to try to return to it (nothing happens since it's already highlighted)

You are talking about "Method, Function, Variable", therefore I assume you are talking about the Java editor.
This behavior is implemented in JavaOutlinePage#select(..).

Re-assigning to the JDT project

This bug hasn't had any activity in quite some time. Maybe the problem got resolved, was a duplicate of something else, or became less pressing for some reason - or maybe it's still relevant but just hasn't been looked at yet.

If you have further information on the current state of the bug, please add it. The information can be, for example, that the problem still occurs, that you still want the feature, that more information is needed, or that the bug is (for whatever reason) no longer relevant.
