In SWT, Image implements the Drawable interface and it can be drawn upon by usiing a GC like so: 
  Image image = new Image( device, width, height );
  GC gc = new GC( image );
  gc.drawRectangle( 0, 0, 10, 20 );
  ...

Currently this is not supported in RWT.

This has already been reported in bug 318900. Moved the dependency to this bug.
