While working on the user profile I ended up thinking that we should have a User Service similar to File Service to manage user profile, etc. Right now it will be closely coupled to Orion UI like File Service is. 

I wonder if we have any progress on cross site calls issue. I remember that someone was working on calls from IFrames or something like that. I wonder where we are with this thing.

As of M6 the file service is completely implemented via a client side (cross frame) plugin. There are some issues related to authentication that will be looked at for M7.
