Description Susan McCourt CLA 2011-01-13 18:35:58 EST
It should be simple for a user to figure out what location (linked, on the server, etc.) a particular folder points to.

When I was setting up for self-hosting and the magic ide directory appeared, it was disconcerting. At first I wasn't sure if it was an artifact from my old setup, or was part of the M4 autogenerated content. It would be easier to sort out if I could have looked at the location.

A more real-world scenario is if I link to a git repo. I'd like to be able to double-check the file path I'm linked to.

I don't think we'll expose details like the server file system path to the end user. This is an implementation detail.
