Description DJ Houghton CLA 2011-01-05 13:54:33 EST
Once approved, we should consume Ant 1.8.2 from Orbit.

Platform CQ: https://dev.eclipse.org/ipzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=4727
Comment 1 Michael Rennie CLA 2011-01-05 16:17:47 EST
Marking bug 302296 as blocking this one, the reason being the platform cannot consume Ant 1.8.2 without the patch from 302296, otherwise a good portion of the Ant tests will fail and the support within Eclipse will be broken.
Comment 2 Kim Moir CLA 2011-01-12 13:52:53 EST
It was mentioned in the arch call today that the CQ has been approved and that it is ready for the build. Is there a recent Orbit build with this new bundle? I looked and couldn't see one.
Comment 3 DJ Houghton CLA 2011-01-12 13:55:49 EST
The CQ was approved this afternoon.
You can track Ant 1.8.2's release to Orbit in bug 333591.

patch

Here's the patch. I assume we aren't ready to make the switch yet because some dependent bugs aren't resolved yet. Is this correct?

We just have to apply the patch from bug 302296 to update Ant and the Ant tests.
Comment 7 DJ Houghton CLA 2011-01-17 12:10:02 EST
Ant 1.8.2 was released into Orbit and is available from the Orbit download page.
The currently promoted build is missing the plugin.properties file but I have fixed that for the next Orbit build.
Comment 8 Michael Rennie CLA 2011-01-24 14:32:16 EST
Moving to M6, the most recent patch that fixes up a lot of memory problems in Ant needs more testing and M5 is shipping this week.
Comment 9 Kim Moir CLA 2011-02-01 09:15:57 EST
Are we ready for another test build using Ant 1.8.2?

I've tagged the feature and doc bundles for the next i-build with the new version of Ant. Can this bug be closed?
