The purpose of class diagrams is visualization of models. The purpose of visualization is to make the models easier to read. Therefore, diagrams should be made as easier to read as possible so that the above purposes are well served. An important enhancement to add clarity of model class diagrams is to allow the placement of several visual occurrences of a single artifact. At present diagrams can be cluttered by crossing lines representing inheritance and/or associations. Providing the above enhancement should ease the task of clutter reduction by allowing inheritance to be specified locally for multiple artifacts that are derived from the same base artifact. RSA supports this feature, which makes RSA class diagrams somewhat "cleaner" in that respect. Can this be helped? *Yoram
This feature is not really possible in our GMF-based diagrams.
