I create a new eclipse m2e bug ... submitted .. got a bug id.
Then I create a subtask for this bug. This new subtask is (for now) a private task ... I would't submit this to eclipse.org. 
It would be great to see the task hierarchy independently from the submit-state. 
Is this possible?

That's an interesting suggestion. Unfortunately the current synchronization architecture does not support showing non repository relationships between tasks. 

Hence we are unable to resolve the request at the moment. The bug has been marked helpwanted to indicate that we would be happy to support a community contribution to resolve it.

Mylyn has been restructured, and our issue tracking has moved to GitHub [1].
