What version of Eclipse and GTK are you running? I tried reproducing this today on our RHEL4 x64 machine and I couldn't get it to crash.

I thought this bug was related to 320487, but none of the workarounds listed on the thread helped my problem. I have just been biting the pillowcase on this problem for months and months, but would love a solid solution. If you could offer a workaround that would be fantastic. Eclipse Version is : Helios Service Release 1 build id: 20100917-0705 I have reproduced this in ganymede and gallileo as well. GTK is: gtk2-devel-2.10.4-21.el5_5.6
I can't reproduce this issue. Also since bug 501816 I believe the GNOME interaction is non-existent since GIO is a hard dependency in GTK2.24.
