During startup of Eclipse 4.1, the splash screen is taken down before the workbench is shown.

There may be a period of a few seconds with nothing on the screen before the workbench is up and ready.

As well, in 3.x, there is a progress monitor that is shown after the workspace choose dialog.  4.1 does not have this progress.
