The Mozilla Bugzilla uses quite a lot of keywords/custom fields ( not sure exactly ). The way they are displayed in the web UI is minimal, both on terms of space used, and in terms of count. The task editor: * displays many more fields * allocated too much space The disconnect will be clear once I attach screenshot.
Created attachment 184947 [details] Fields displayed in the task editor Fields displayed in the task editor take up a lot of space. Also, there is no way to 'clear' such a field, the empty option is not present.
Created attachment 184948 [details] Minimal display in the web UI Apparently only the 'set' fields are displayed. Not sure how one can add such a new field though.
Another sample bug: https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=515515. We made some improvements as part of bug 339470 but this doesn't help when a repository has a large number of custom fields. I wonder if we should define a threshold and nest them in a subsection if a repository has more than 6 custom fields for instance.
