1. File > New > Untitled Text File 2. Make it dirty. 3. Repeat steps 1 and 2. 4. File > Exit 5. You will be prompted to save, click 'OK'. 6. Now you will be prompted to save the untitled text files as a file. Click 'Cancel'. 7. Another dialog prompts up (for the second file). This is wrong because the operation should have been overridden. Click 'Cancel' for this too. 8. Now the workbench shuts down, leading to data loss.
In 3.x, it was possible to cancel save operations by submitting a cancel request to the provided progress monitor. You could arguably do the same in 4.x but we're not currently checking that.
This bug hasn't had any activity in quite some time. Maybe the problem got resolved, was a duplicate of something else, or became less pressing for some reason - or maybe it's still relevant but just hasn't been looked at yet. If you have further information on the current state of the bug, please add it. The information can be, for example, that the problem still occurs, that you still want the feature, that more information is needed, or that the bug is (for whatever reason) no longer relevant. -- The automated Eclipse Genie.
