If I try to launch a Parallel Application Run Configuration that is tied to a Resource Manager that is not running PTP reports that the "Specified resource manager not found or is not available". It would be more helpful (and much easier for a beginner) if I got a message along the following lines: "The Resource Manager for <configuration name> is currently stopped. Do you want to start it? [Yes|No]\n [checkbox] Perform this action automatically in the future.", which is the way such things are usually handled in eclipse. Steps to reproduce: Issue 1: 1. Create a Parallel Application Configuration 2. Turn off the resource manager 3. Lauch the Parallel Application Configuration

I've added this functionality to ptp_5_0 and HEAD. Please test.
Created attachment 205933 [details] he uploaded file is a gzipped tar file. The uploaded file is a gzipped tar file containing a text Readme file, and the three modified files that are in their proper directories. Readme.txt contains my thought process, ideas, and solution. Don't fret, it's short. Hopefully, this solution will be acceptable. Ginger
Hi Ginger, thanks for the patch. Have you tried the latest version from CVS? I implemented a dialog and preference that allows the RM to be automatically started if required. One thing I forgot to mention is that you should assign the bug to yourself if you're planning to work on it. That way we don't have two people working on the same thing. Sorry about that!
