1. Close the 'Welcome' screen.
2. File > New > Other... > Plug-in Project
3. Give it a name > Next
4. Take the defaults > Next
5. Select 'Plug-in with a view' > Finish
6. When prompted to change perspectives > No
7. The plugin.xml file is generated properly with the org.eclipse.ui.views extension point usage but there is no sample ViewPart implementation generated.

Caused by bug 303361.

Curtis, per bug 303361 comment 2, I was suggesting that the 'templates_3.0/mail' folder be deleted, not the whole 'templates_3.0/' folder. :O
Comment 1 Curtis Windatt CLA 2010-11-30 13:35:18 EST
My bad, though it is disappointing that though we can't create 3.0 templates, we still use stuff from the 3.0 folder.
Comment 2 Curtis Windatt CLA 2010-11-30 13:39:54 EST
Fixed, only the mail folder has been removed.

I imagine that there are a few other sub folders that can be removed (viewRCP perhaps), but I think I've done enough damage for one week.
