As part of our recent reorg, several long-time committers were removed. Dani suggested that we nominate some key contributors from the early days as committers emeritus: http://www.eclipse.org/projects/committers-emeritus.php It looks like we've never done this before, as Wassim is the only name from the Eclipse project that shows up there today. Here is an initial suggested list of people to nominate: Martin Aeschlimann Dirk Baeumer Jim Des Rivieres Erich Gamma Dejan Glozic Kevin Haaland Jean-Michel Lemieux Kai-Uwe Maetzel Kevin McGuire Darin Swanson Michael Valenta Andre Weinand John Wiegand Note you can view a list of "alumni" from here: http://www.eclipse.org/projects/committers-alumni.php?sort=project
+1 for the list in comment 0.
McQ/Jeff/Martin: please comment if you want to change anything.
looks good
Most of these people's involvement pre-dates my life at Eclipse, so I can't really comment ... but I trust John's good judgement --> vote 0. On the Emeritus page http://www.eclipse.org/projects/committers-emeritus.php I noticed a couple names who apparently left some project X but are still active committers on some project Y eg Andrew Niefer, Mik Kersten. Reading the text on the page, this doesn't seem the intention of the page as it seems to apply to "Eclipse as a whole". Perhaps people who've been nominated for Emeritus status on any project X should be filtered from the list while they are still active committers on any other project.
I sent this request on to the EMO, and it has been completed. The names now appear among the Emeratii.
