When dragging a task from one container to another, the windows shortuct icon is shown. This makes sense when dragging from a query to a category, but not when dragging from one category to another, because in that case it is moving the task.

When dragging while holding ctrl, a + icon indicating copying is shown. This is wrong because holding ctrl does not cause tasks to be copied (and they can only be in one category anyway).

When dragging while holding ctrl+shift, the shortcut icon is shown again. This is doesn't matter now, but should be changed once the first issue above is fixed.

In scheduled presentation, no drag icons should be shown.

Makes sense. Interested in contributing a fix? TaskListDropAdapter probably needs a bit of refactoring.

The shortcut icon is shown as a direct result of the patch on bug 183128. It's not clear to me that that patch is doing anything useful.
