Build Identifier: 20100617-1415 The 'Show header on first' option isn't working for Word DOC files, although Word has has a similar option that hides the header on the first report page. Deactivating 'Show header on first' option in BIRT Report Designer causes the header to disappear on ALL pages when previewed as a Word DOC. At the same time, this feature works fine for PDF. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Create any report that contains more than one page. 2. Add a header to the report. 3. Disable 'show header on first' option. 4. Preview report in Word DOC format - all headers disappear.
This is the limitation of Word. Word don't have the option to show header only on the 1st page.

Hi Xiaoying, please check the screenshot I've just attached. There is an option in Word that allows for different headers/footers to be shown on the first page of the document. Could BIRT make use of this feature to add an empty header to the first page and the intended header to all further pages? Cheers
Sorry, I did not check the word option carefully. I can see the issues now.
Thanks Xiaoying, look forward to hearing from you.
Hi Xiaoying, could you please provide an update on this? Any chance this fix can make it into 2.6.2? Thank you, Dmitry
Is this issue now fixed in https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=287414 ?
Tested BIRT 3.7.0 M7 - it still hides header on All pages in Word is 'Show header on first' is disabled.
The issue has been fixed in 3.7M7. Please see my attached DOC file and test report. The page header was hidden for the first page with this options diabled.

This bug only exists when the first HTML page will be split into several DOC pages. This kind of pagination is done by MS WORD, so we are not able to know where the page break will occur. For example, the first HTML page will be split into 3 DOC pages by MS WORD. Our DOC emitter handles the page header/footer for every HTML page, so the 3 DOC pages will not have the header. Currently, because the default layout preference is Fixed layout, One HTML page corresponds to one DOC page, the bug is not likely reproducible.
Verified in 3.7M7.
