The News section on our project home page reports:

News
Feb 26th - Release GEF 3.5.2 is available as part of the Galileo SR2 simultaneous release.

That does not seem to be really "new" news. In my opinion, a static web page is a bad place to provide "News" information. I would propose to remove the section completely.

Updated news to report that 3.6.1 was published. 

However, I suppose that we remove such kind information from the web page, so it might not get outdated.

Resolving as duplicate of bug #331874, as with the new nova theme, there is no explicit news section anymore.
