Description commandernchief CLA 2010-11-09 14:37:41 EST
Build Identifier: M20100909-0800

To speed up the commit process I would like the Commit dialog to retain the previous comment.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Right-click file to commit
2. Select Commit...
3. The previous comment should be in the comment textarea

The comment area is cleared intentionally so you don't commit with a wrong comment / you're prompted to enter one if there is one required. You can select the previous comment using the combo box below the comment area. The only way I can think of fixing it as you requested would be by adding a preference. A patch is welcome, you should start with having a look at CommitWizardCommitPage in org.eclipse.team.cvs.ui plug-in. Ping me in case of any questions.

I think it is not worth of adding yet another preference. As you Tomek said, you can choose the latest commit comment from the combo, what speeds up the commit process and prevents committing a wrong comment accidentally.
