Description Alex Blewitt CLA 2010-11-09 06:54:16 EST
Build Identifier: 2.3.0.RELEASE

The greenpages sample database refers to ~ in the solution, which works on Unix systems but fails on Windows. Using ${user.home} would be better, since that would work on both.

Reproducible: Always

Hi Alex,

I've had a look at this, not tried it on Windows yet as I wanted to ensure it still worked on Mac first (We all use Macs here for dev). Could you confirm you mean the url string in the module-context.xml file. If so I tried replacing the '~' with '${user.home}' and it failed to find the database. I'm not familiar with variable substitution here I'm feel free to point out something stupid on my part.

Chris.

This is working for me. I can't recreate it. Could you please provide more details on the failure.

I ran Greenpages 2.3 on a recent Virgo build using Windows XP and it all worked fine, database queries returning no problems and I can't find anything in the log.

Chris.

Were you running it from the same drive that your home user directory is on? I was running it from a different drive.

Hi,

Yes, I'm running from the C: drive. My windows box doesn't have any more drives as it's a virtual instance.

Chris.

I'll try a few things and see if I can find out what caused it.

We are not making any progress on this bug. Please could you help us reproduce the problem otherwise I'm afraid we'll have to close it as not reproducible.
Comment 7 Chris Frost CLA 2011-01-18 12:39:39 EST
Closing as 'Can not reproduce'. Please reopen if there is any new information.

"Cannnot reproduce" is I believe spelled as the rather provocative WORKSFORME.
