Build Identifier: I20101028-1441 When a shared launch configuration (i.e. stored in a .launch file under one of the projects) is added to the list of favorite run or debug configurations, that information is stored in the .launch file rather than locally in Eclipse. This doesn't always make sense, e.g. consider the case where a team working on multiple platforms check in their launch configurations, and each person wants to have the launch configuration for their platform in their favorites list. Reproducible: Always
are there any comments on this, i.e. anyone to disagree with the proposed behavior?
Storing the favorites assignment of launches in the workspace instead of in the actual .launch files is something I have wanted for a long long time! We use shared launches a lot in our software projects, and it's quite annoying to to have a lot of locally modified launch files in CVS every time I modify the favorites. Thanks for looking into this!
It seems that no one is against the change, it's also not a priority for any of the committers. A patch contribution would be very welcome. We need to make sure though that the change will be backward compatible and read the changes out of the existing launch configurations.
This bug hasn't had any activity in quite some time. Maybe the problem got resolved, was a duplicate of something else, or became less pressing for some reason - or maybe it's still relevant but just hasn't been looked at yet. If you have further information on the current state of the bug, please add it. The information can be, for example, that the problem still occurs, that you still want the feature, that more information is needed, or that the bug is (for whatever reason) no longer relevant. If the bug is still relevant, please remove the stalebug whiteboard tag.
