Build Identifier: M20100909-0800 Sometimes, when trying to create a new java package and/or new java class, after having filled out all the details and clicking Finish in the wizard, Eclipse hangs in the corresponding dialog box. Pressing the cancel button has no effect, and if trying to close the wizard's dialog after having pressed cancel, I get the following message: Wizard cannot be closed due to an active operation. You must cancel the operation before you can close the wizard. Then I have to kill the Eclipse process manually. It happens frequently, but randomly. Couldn't reproduce it to come up with an exact testcase. Worst of all, any changes I've made to open files which haven't been saved are lost, therefore I'm putting this to Critical. Reproducible: Sometimes Steps to Reproduce: 1. start the "New Java Package" wizard 2. fill out the package name 3. click Finish
When Eclipse appears to be hung, please get a thread dump. http://wiki.eclipse.org/How_to_report_a_deadlock
