Description Eduard Bartsch CLA 2010-10-28 04:58:22 EDT
CMIS (see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Content_Management_Interoperability_Services for details) provides a way to access repository content via a repository-independent, REST-based protocol.

The idea is to evaluate how Eclipse Resource Management and CMIS-enabled repositories can be connected using Semantic File System.

As the first step, a demo content provider for CMIS should be implemented similar to the WebDAV content provider implemented with bug 311859.

There is also ongoing effort for efs-cmis implementation (http://wiki.eclipse.org/EFS#efs-cmis) so that (besides joining the efforts) it is interesting to find out whether additional APIs defined by SFS may help to provide reacher, better integration and user experience compared with using EFS API only.

This bug hasn't had any activity in quite some time. Maybe the problem got resolved, was a duplicate of something else, or became less pressing for some reason - or maybe it's still relevant but just hasn't been looked at yet.

If you have further information on the current state of the bug, please add it. The information can be, for example, that the problem still occurs, that you still want the feature, that more information is needed, or that the bug is (for whatever reason) no longer relevant.
